Continued from the previous post…

My original intent was to weave four squares: 1 aqua, 1 green, 1 pink, 1 fuchsia, but decided it would be better to weave four of each. So I did.

Today I began arranging them in different configurations. I posted them on Facebook and asked which arrangement people liked best.

There was a clear favorite, but a few of the others got votes too—in fact all but #6 got at least one vote. Along with the majority, I favored the first arrangement, so I created a couple of photo collages of those blocks.

As more votes for other arrangements came in I figured I ought to do the fair thing and make collages for some of those. I ended up making collages for all of them and was very pleasantly surprised by the results. Individually each looks good but, in comparison, some are more striking than others. I’m going to have a hard time sticking with my original choice…

What an interesting exercise! I find it fascinating that your original #6 didn’t get any votes, but to my eye, that formed the most pleasing arrangement. Thanks for sharing this experiment!

Thanks Marie! I was fascinated by how everyone had such different opinions. It was fun to see how they all turned out.
