Suzanne Eakin, member of the Facebook Pin Loom Weaving Support Group and a prolific pin loom project artist, has given me permission to post her weaving pattern (and photos) here on my blog.

Braided Diagonal is an adaptation of several vintage Loomette patterns (from The Loomette Handbook—New Weaves, Vogues and Suggestions). Suzanne preserved the central diagonal line appearing in patterns B-15, B-23, and B-24 and cut out the extras.

Besides being an attractive pattern in its own right, Braided Diagonal is useful for folding a square in half and giving your triangle’s hypotenuse a patterned edge.

Suzanne has also used it for a vein line down the center of a leaf (fold corners under to shape leaf).

I was especially attracted to this pattern when I saw Bonnie Visser’s version of a Star Cushion. Bonnie is also a member of the Facebook Pin Loom Weaving Support Group and an avid pin loomer.
